Alta Dena Pumpkin Spice Egg Nog

Photobucket
Yeah, yeah I need an intervention, I know.
I would like to tell you that as I review this egg nog I am sitting by a roaring fire, nibbling on Thanksgiving leftovers (there are few left overs as good as chestnut stuffing!) there's a Bing Crosby movie on the tv and my cat is purring in my lap.

In reality it is actually the night before Thanksgiving, I have no fireplace, I am madly fantasising about chestnut stuffing, I am watching a South Park rerun ("Gnomes") and my cat is running around the apartment like he has a rocket up his butt.

So, while I may not have the picture postcard perfect version of lounging around after a holiday I DO have a pretty spiffy glass of egg nog.

What I really liked about the Pumpkin Spice egg nog is that while you can definitely tell there is pumpkin in the drink it is not so overwhelming that it is like drinking liquid pie. There is a warm spicy touch of cinnamon, cardamom and possibly even clove.
The texture is thick and creamy. It feels rich in your mouth without being heavy. I bet you could make fantastic ice cream out of this! I loved it just as much as the traditional Alta Dena egg nog!
